Respite Night for Foster Families

October 11th, 3– 6:30PM at Salem

What is a Respite Event? 

This Respite Event is a time when parents of foster children ages birth – 7th grade can drop their children off at the church and enjoy an afternoon together while their children are loved by us.  

Salem Baptist Church has a wonderful opportunity to reach out to parents of foster children. When surveyed, foster families listed babysitting as their #1 need.

How can you help?

Adult and teenage volunteers are needed to play and watch over the children as they rotate through stations. We need 3 main categories of volunteers:

Buddy (2:45-6:30pm): You will be paired with 1 or 2 children for the night.

Welcome Team (2:45-3:30pm): Greeting/directing families as they arrive.

Floater (2:45-6:30pm): Help with various needs such as dinner setup.

Volunteers will be trauma trained and will have background checks.
